Who We Are

St. John’s is a growing, multi-generational family of faith committed to our mission to love God and love others in a way that brings HOPE to the world.

We gather in our historic church building, originally built in 1898 and renovated in 2016, located in downtown Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

Worship is on Sundays at 8:00 (traditional), 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. (contemporary). Each service is unique, representing a format that is both “rooted and relevant”.

Nursery is available at 9:15 & 10:45 a.m., and St. John’s Kids! meet during the 9:15am service (though kids are always welcome at any of our services).

Groups

Sermon-Based Small Groups | Throughout the year, small groups of people who call St. John’s home gather during the week to study God’s Word, pray, discuss the Sunday message, serve others, and build relationships. Groups typically form in the Fall, Winter and Spring at the launch of the latest churchwide sermon series. Are you interested in joining a group? Leading or hosting a group? Let us know by filling out this form today!

Classes | From time to time we offer classes at the church covering a specific topic. Past examples include Bible 101, a Christian Discussion on the Refugee Crisis, and Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Be sure to we have all your contact info by filling out a Connect Card. That way, you will receive our weekly Prayer & Action e-mail for the latest news on upcoming classes!

    The Myth of Perfect Parenting.

Because it's grace that will actually change the heart. And it's the heart that we as parents want to see changed.
So parents, no matter how old your kids, how do we apply this?

--First, start by looking at your child. Look at their situation from their perspective first, before your own.
--Second, find ways to enter into it with them. Where do I see these same fears, mistakes, challenges. in my own life?

Others first, Enter in, Extend Grace...

The Elephant in the (Family) Room Week 4 | The Elephant Who Isn’t in the Room
We all have someone in our family... the empty void left by their lack of presence can feel bigger than if they were in the room. This week, we tackle the elephant who isn't in the room and the ministry of reconciliation we are all called to as followers of Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:16-21)

When you encounter conflict in your lives, ask yourselves....
What are your desires? What are your motives? Where do you need grace?

The Elephant in the (Family) Room Week 2 | Who wears the pants in this family?
Jesus, who had all the power in heaven and on earth, literally died for those who had no power, you and me. Why? Because he loves us. And because Jesus loves us and is willing to give everything for us, Jesus wears the pants in every family.

The Elephant in the (Family) Room
Join us as we journey into exploring the elephants in our family rooms.  Jesus came when our lives were already broken and He continues to live in our lives, in our family rooms.  Jesus loves us as we are, not who we believe we are supposed to be.
