Tom was born and raised in a small town in northern Illinois and has spent most of his adult life in Wisconsin. After earning a degree in Business and Marketing, he went on to study theology and leadership at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry through the Eugene Peterson Center for Christian Imagination at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI.

Tom has served in ministry across Wisconsin for nearly two decades and has been Lead Pastor at St. John’s since 2012. He is passionate about fostering authentic community and helping people recognize God’s grace in everyday life.

Tom and his wife, Elissa, have been married since 2008 and are raising five children woven into their family through birth and adoption. Since 2015, their family has been deeply engaged in foster care through Children’s Wisconsin Milwaukee County, an experience that continues to shape their understanding of love, hospitality, and our shared humanity.

When he’s not pastoring or parenting, Tom enjoys reading, playing guitar, eating pizza, and holding out hope that the Chicago Bears will finally turn things around.

Tom’s favorite Bible verse is John 3:17 (The Message):

"God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again."

Eric was born and raised in Chicago and has spent much of his life in and around the city he deeply loves. Summers, however, often took him north to Wisconsin, where he attended and later served at Camp Awana in Fredonia - experiences that helped shape his early faith and calling. Years later, he and his family lived in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, where he pastored for eight years. Now, the Haskins are thrilled to call Wisconsin home once again.

After earning his undergraduate degree in Bible and Theology from Moody Bible Institute, Eric went on to gain his Masters degree from Wheaton College and later completed his Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Spiritual Formation at Portland Seminary in Oregon.

He has served in pastoral ministry for over three decades, including roles as a Youth Pastor, Senior Pastor, and most recently as Pastor of Spiritual Formation at a church in the Chicago suburbs. Eric has a passion for helping individuals and communities encounter the transforming presence of Christ and developing leaders who reflect the way of Jesus in everyday life.

Eric and his wife, Linda, have been married since 1992 and love doing life together—whether that means travel adventures, discovering new restaurants, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home. Their daughter, Mya, serves on staff at a church in Chicago and shares their love for ministry and the Church.

In his free time, Eric enjoys strategy board games, photography, biking local trails, and nerding out over all things sci-fi. He prefers Dunkin over Starbucks, drinks caffeine-free Diet Coke, and looks forward to the crisp days of fall—his favorite season.

One of Eric’s most formative Bible passages is Matthew 11:28–30 (The Message):

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly."
