Adult Discipleship
Football Sunday | Click here to check out the message from Superbowl Sunday, February 5, which included testimony from NFL SuperBowl team players and powerful messages from their walk with Christ.
Discipleship Night February | Click here to register for a one-evening discipleship event! This month’s topic is “A Christian Discussion on the Refugee Crisis”, and we will come together to learn, pray, enjoy a potluck dinner and have lots of group discussion. Childcare is available. Sign up at the church on Sundays. (Note: there will also be a morning option from 10-11:30am for those unable to join us in the evening. Same content, but no childcare or potluck.)
Ash Wednesday | Are you carrying guilt or shame over past mistakes? Join us this Ash Wednesday (March 1, 6:30pm Worship with Nursery Available, 6:00pm Soup Dinner) as we begin the season of Lent with a refreshing sense of forgiveness and freedom through the burning of sins. “…Turn to face God so he can wipe away your sins, pour out showers of blessing to refresh you, and send you the Messiah he prepared for you, namely, Jesus.” (Acts 3, The Message)
40-Day Challenge | Join St. John’s this season of Lent (beginning March 1) as we go on a 40 day journey together, being challenged by God and one another to become more by embracing less. Together we will walk the road to Jesus’ death, resurrection, and our new life found in Him. This journey will include Sunday mornings, Wednesday evening Worship & Groups at 6:30pm (Soup Dinner at 6:00pm), daily prayer and Bible reading, and an invitation to a very moving Holy Week leading up to Easter.

Who We Are

St. John’s is a growing, multi-generational family of faith committed to our mission to love God and love others in a way that brings HOPE to the world.
We gather in our historic church building, originally built in 1898 and renovated in 2016, located in downtown Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
Worship is on Sundays at 8:00 (traditional), 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. (contemporary). Each service is unique, representing a format that is both “rooted and relevant”.
Nursery is available at 9:15 & 10:45 a.m., and St. John’s Kids! meet during the 9:15am service (though kids are always welcome at any of our services).

St. John’s Kids!

St. John’s Kids! – Sunday School – 9:15am Sundays, 4-K through 6th Grade

St. John’s Kids! is offered year-round on Sundays during the 9:15am Worship Service. Each morning begins with opening songs, games and an interactive lesson, followed by age-specific small groups that build relationships and reinforce the lesson. We follow the Orange curriculum, striving to be a partner with parents in the faith formation of each child. No need to pre-register, we’ll take care of everything when you get here!

Junior and Senior High Youth Group – Wednesday Evenings 6:30 – 8:00pm

Jr/Sr High Students gather weekly on Wednesdays for a meal, games, lesson and small group discussion. Confirmation is woven into the junior/senior high youth group program for those students and parents who are interested.

Groups are regular gatherings of 8-20 people that meet for the simple purpose of friendship, eating and living on the mission God has called us each to be a part of together. That mission includes getting to know eachother and our neighbors, talking about what God is doing in your life and saying through His Word, and praying with one another. Think of groups not like a class or a study, but rather a family.
We also offer classes and volunteer opportunities throughout the year to grow together in our knowledge of God’s Word and enter into community with one another.

It is our goal to preach God’s Word in such a way that it is rooted in Him and relevant to us.

    Do I Run From God?
    Series: Jonah
Maybe the ultimate truth in Jonah is the reality that while you can run from God, and all of us do, there is nowhere you can hide. And he is always waiting to bring you back.  What is far more radical than Jonah running from God is what God is willing to do to bring Jonah back. And what God will do to bring you back.

Because of Bethlehem, Worship Works Wonders
So during this Christmas season, worship.  Not your circumstances, don't worship God only for the gifts He has blessed you with...if you do, and those gifts go away by next year, you're going to be at a loss.  You can thank God for those blessing today...but worship who He is yesterday, today and forever.  Worship Him for the gifts that He brings that will never end.

Because of Bethlehem, God Has a Face
"The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being… In other words, under no uncertain terms, the Bible says that if you’ve seen Jesus, you’ve seen God. He didn’t claim to be like God, he claimed to be God."

Thank you for supporting the ministry and faith community at St. John’s! Financial offerings are an act of worship and sacrifice no matter what the amount. In addition, they help support the many ways our congregation reaches out to the community and the world.
