Adult Discipleship

Advent at St. John’s
We invite you to join us this Sunday as we begin a very special Advent season! In “Because of Bethlehem”, we will explore the ways the world was forever changed 2000 years ago by a baby in a manger. Books by author Max Lucado are also available at a discount. This is a great time to visit St. John’s, and invite a friend!

12 Symbols of Christmas – Sunday, December 11
Join us as we take a journey through the 12 symbols of Christmas, sing songs, enjoy a Children’s ministry performance, and eat Christmas cookies! The 12 Symbols of Christmas will take place on Sunday, December 11 at 9:15 and 10:45am (no 8am service that day).

Christmas Eve and Day Worship
Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship Services will be held on Saturday, December 24 at 4:00 and 6:00pm (nursery available), and a simple Christmas Day Worship Service will be held on Sunday, December 25 at 9:00am (one service only, no nursery available).

Who We Are

St. John’s is a growing, multi-generational family of faith committed to our mission to love God and love others in a way that brings HOPE to the world.

We gather in our historic church building, originally built in 1898 and renovated in 2016, located in downtown Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

Worship is on Sundays at 8:00 (traditional), 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. (contemporary). Each service is unique, representing a format that is both “rooted and relevant”.

Nursery is available at 9:15 & 10:45 a.m., and St. John’s Kids! meet during the 9:15am service (though kids are always welcome at any of our services).

St. John’s Kids!

St. John’s Kids! – Sunday School – 9:15am Sundays, 4-K through 6th Grade

St. John’s Kids! is offered year-round on Sundays during the 9:15am Worship Service. Each morning begins with opening songs, games and an interactive lesson, followed by age-specific small groups that build relationships and reinforce the lesson. We follow the Orange curriculum, striving to be a partner with parents in the faith formation of each child. No need to pre-register, we’ll take care of everything when you get here!

Junior and Senior High Youth Group – Wednesday Evenings 6:30 – 8:00pm

Jr/Sr High Students gather weekly on Wednesdays for a meal, games, lesson and small group discussion. Confirmation is woven into the junior/senior high youth group program for those students and parents who are interested.

Groups

Groups are regular gatherings of 8-20 people that meet for the simple purpose of friendship, eating and living on the mission God has called us each to be a part of together. That mission includes getting to know eachother and our neighbors, talking about what God is doing in your life and saying through His Word, and praying with one another. Think of groups not like a class or a study, but rather a family.

We also offer classes and volunteer opportunities throughout the year to grow together in our knowledge of God’s Word and enter into community with one another.

Listen

It is our goal to preach God’s Word in such a way that it is rooted in Him and relevant to us.

Because of Bethlehem, God Has a Face
"The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being… In other words, under no uncertain terms, the Bible says that if you’ve seen Jesus, you’ve seen God. He didn’t claim to be like God, he claimed to be God."

    Reformation Sunday
What has God been tapping on the door of your heart? What have your indulgences been, the ways you have been trying to pay for your own salvation? How have they failed you?

Jesus has already paid the price.  Through God's grace, you are forgiven...

Stewardship and Dedication of our bell
Today we rededicate our church bell.  Our bell reminds us that each of us is on a mission from God.  Our mission is to go out and be the light in the world of darkness.
