Who We Are

St. John’s is a growing, multi-generational family of faith committed to our mission to love God and love others in a way that brings HOPE to the world.

We gather in our historic church building, originally built in 1898 and renovated in 2016, located in downtown Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

Worship is on Sundays at 8:00 (traditional), 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. (contemporary). Each service is unique, representing a format that is both “rooted and relevant”.

Nursery is available at 9:15 & 10:45 a.m., and St. John’s Kids! meet during the 9:15am service (though kids are always welcome at any of our services).

St. John’s Kids!

St. John’s Kids! – Sunday School – 9:15am Sundays, 4-K through 6th Grade

St. John’s Kids! is offered year-round on Sundays during the 9:15am Worship Service. Each morning begins with opening songs, games and an interactive lesson, followed by age-specific small groups that build relationships and reinforce the lesson. We follow the Orange curriculum, striving to be a partner with parents in the faith formation of each child. No need to pre-register, we’ll take care of everything when you get here!

Groups

Groups are regular gatherings of 8-20 people that meet for the simple purpose of friendship, eating and living on the mission God has called us each to be a part of together. That mission includes getting to know eachother and our neighbors, talking about what God is doing in your life and saying through His Word, and praying with one another. Think of groups not like a class or a study, but rather a family.

We also offer classes and volunteer opportunities throughout the year to grow together in our knowledge of God’s Word and enter into community with one another.

Listen

It is our goal to preach God’s Word in such a way that it is rooted in Him and relevant to us.

Daniel 7-Daniel and the Lion’s Den
The evil that exists in this world is terrifying! But God never leaves us alone.
The Ancient of Days is God, and the son who comes riding on the clouds of heaven to take authority over everything is....Jesus.

    Daniel 6 – The Lion’s Den
...the safest place in the world just might be in a den sealed by the king and full of hungry lions. Not because the lions are safe, but because we are found blameless before a God who will send his angels to close the mouth of death and deliver us the HOPE of salvation.

Daniel is a story of our four men, who admitted to the sins and mistakes of their people, but submitted to God in a foreign land, to a foreign king and an unknown future.

Owning our mistakes opens the door to our past so that God can walk through that door and use it to change our future.

    God Loves a CHEERFUL Giver!
God loves a cheerful giver. In other words, you have to begin by being thankful for what you have before you even think about giving to someone else. And so real challenge this morning is this: Have you thought, really though, recently about what God has given you? Are you really thankful for your blessings?

Give

Thank you for supporting the ministry and faith community at St. John’s! Financial offerings are an act of worship and sacrifice no matter what the amount. In addition, they help support the many ways our congregation reaches out to the community and the world.
