(Palm Sunday) Pressure Points: The Pressure of Retaliation
What happens this week is so remarkable, we are still talking about it 2000 years later. It would forever change the world, and it begins on a day we now call Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday was around a week before Jesus' death on the cross, when he came into Jerusalem riding on a donkey.

As Jesus came in on the donkey, the people of Jerusalem picked up palm branches, waving them in the air and calling out, "Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest! Save us Jesus!"

The truth is, Jesus would save these people, but he wouldn't do it the way they had expected.  When the people didn't get what they expected, they crucified Jesus.

We crucified Jesus because we are fickle.  Yet, Jesus remains faithful to us...

Pressure Points: The Pressure of Conflict
Conflict is a pressure point in our lives we can all relate to, yet how to relieve the pressure of conflict isn't so clear.

James says that conflict comes from within. (James 4:1-10)

The first step to dealing with conflict is always you! Take the first step. Be the bigger person. Forgive.  After all, what has God done for us?  He has forgiven us even when we didn't deserve it.

Ask yourself...are you committed to God?
Can you forgive others as God forgives you?

Pressure Points: The Pressure of Words
    Words matter...

The pressure of words is like a sanctification "thermometer."  Our thermometer rises when we live our lives more like Jesus.

If your words are perfect, your entire body will be perfect.  But we're not there yet, none of us are, we're still being sanctified.  "we all stumble in many ways," says James.

    Words matter...

As much power as God gives us, His words still matter more.  They far outweigh, cancel out, and destroy anything negative anyone has ever said to you or me.

Pressure Points: The Pressure of Partiality
Good judgment isn't something we are born with. Bad judgment is. Human nature tell us to value and compare ourselves to all the wrong things. James reminds us to judge through the lenses of God. When we focus on God, things become clearer. When we judge and value the wrong things, no only do we hurt the people we are judging, but we also get hurt.

    MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGMENT!

Through God's mercy, we receive God's love and acceptance into His kingdom, no matter what we've done.

Pressure Points: The Pressure of Trials
When we put our faith and trust in God, we too can overcome even the worst lift throws at us.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds.  James 1:2
