Fruit of the Spirit-Self Control
So How do we find more self-control, how do we tap into the Spirit's fruit of self-control? 1. Name what it is 2. Go below the Surface..of what has control over you 3. Claim the power of God So, name it, bring people around you, ask the hard questions, go below the surface, and then claim God's truth, You are not a slave. You are a child of God. You are set free by God's grace.

    Fruit of the Spirit-Gentleness
God is both all-powerful and gentle.  He wants to be approachable. He wants a relationship with you and me. We know who God is, we believe in him, but when the tough times in life come our way, we don't tap into his power.  That's pride.  We need to turn back to Him.  And the best part is, when we do that, we tap into the awesome power that can only come from God.

    Fruit of the Spirit-Kindness(Confirmation, Pentecost)
Those first Christians on Pentecost, washed by the Holy Spirit, went out and shared it with others not through a game of telephone, but by living a different kind of life. The kind of life the Apostle Paul says in our reading, Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Another translation says it this way: Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.

Honor one another above yourselves..Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer...Live in harmony with one another..Do not repay evil with evil...If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone"

    Fruit of the Spirit-Joy
Will you allow God's joy to fill you? To have such hope for that future that we can't help but be filled with joy today, even trials? The hope of Heaven allows us to have joy through whatever it is we are going through today. Because if we have hope for tomorrow, we can have joy today.

The first fruit of the spirit: Love. Do you want to see what the fruit of the Spirit love looks like? It's in a mother. Mary is the most famous mother in the Bible. It is out of her motherly faith that God literally came into the world.
